Drop a Pin on Google Maps iPhone
First, make sure Google Maps has relevant location permission to detect your precise whereabouts on your iPhone.
Follow the steps below to drop a pin on Google Maps iPhone.
Step 1: Open Google Maps on iPhone.
You can either search for the place name or zoom in to find the exact place that you want to save.
Step 2: Zoom in and once you find the place you are looking for, long-press on the location.
Step 3: You will see the address appearing at the bottom with a Dropped pin header.
Step 4: Hit the Save button and it will open the list menu.
Step 5: Save the location to your preferred list or create a new one. You can add a note as well.
Drop a Pin on Google Maps Android
Google Maps for Android received a Material You makeover recently. Here’s how you can use dropped pin on Google Maps on Android.
Step 1: Open the Google Maps app and zoom in to a location that you want to pin.
Step 2: Keep pressing on the desired location and Maps will drop a pin to remember.
Step 3: Save it to a list and you are good to go.

Drop a Pin on Google Maps Web
If for some reason, you are unable to use Google Maps mobile apps or want to use dropped pin feature at the convenience of a large screen, use the Google Maps web version.
Step 1: Go to Google Maps web and sign in with your Google account details.
Step 2: Search for the place you are looking for or zoom in find the spot.
Step 3: Click on a spot to use dropped pin feature and a grey location icon will appear.
Step 4: Select the pin and the information menu will appear.
Hit the Save button and remember the location for future use.
Whether you use dropped pin location from mobile apps or web, Google Maps will sync it across all platforms.

Step 3: Tap on the Dropped Pin and it will open a menu to share the location.
The app will use the Android or iOS share menu to send the location to others.
From the same menu, you can get directions to the dropped pin location and start your journey.
Remove Dropped Pin Location
If you have memorized the route or no longer need dropped pin location in Google Maps, you can easily remove it. Here’s how.
Step 1: Launch Google Maps on mobile and navigate to the Saved tab.
Step 2: Select a list and tap on the three-dot menu beside the Dropped pin.
Step 3: Tap on Remove place from the menu and you are good to go.
Can I Drop Multiple Pins on Google Maps?
You can’t drop multiple pins on Google Maps. You can add one pin at a time by searching for the address or manually selecting the area.
