Unlike the predecessors, the upcoming Surface Laptop 5 boasts the newly designed and refined PixelSense flow 120Hz display panel that supports superior productivity and flair of work. Backed with the Microsoft 365, the users won’t have to complain about streaming shows and music, supporting their work productivity and so much more.

The display panel is equipped with 201 PPI resolution with 3:2 aspect ratio and 1500:1 contrast ratio for true to life color reproduction and vivid visuals like never before. Users will also get to experience smoother functionalities with the 10-point multi-touch display. It is also backed with the Dolby Vision support.

Besides the stunning and responsive display, the users are also going to enjoy the choice between the latest 12th Gen. Intel core processor and the AMD Ryzen 6000 series mobile processors.

The 13.5” comes with a choice between the 12th Gen. Intel Core i5-1240P and i7-1280P processor or the AMD Ryzen 7 6680U mobile processor with the Radeon graphics. The 15” version of the Surface Laptop 5 will come with an option between 12th Gen. Intel Core i7-1280P processor or the AMD Ryzen 7 6980U mobile processor with Radeon graphics (Microsoft Surface Edition).

This is an upgrade from the predecessor Surface laptop 4, which came with the 11th Gen. Intel core processor or the AMD Ryzen 7 4980U mobile processors. With the enhanced processor configuration, we can very well expect improved performance in the upcoming Surface laptop 5.

In terms of battery life, the Surface laptop 5 promises somewhere between 17.5 to 21 hours of prolonged battery life, depending on the processor and the display configuration of the device one is purchasing. Even that is an upgrade from the 17-19 hours battery life as seen in Surface laptop 4.

Coming to the graphics configuration, the laptop will come with a choice between Intel Iris Xe graphics and the Radeon graphics, depending on the processor configuration.

The storage and RAM configuration in the Surface laptop 5 is nothing too drastic or improved from the Surface laptop 4. The device will be available in three different storage variants of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB SSD. As for RAM configuration, users will have access to three variants again – 8GB, 16GB and 32GB DDR4 RAM to support superior multitasking and productivity.

Compared to the Surface laptop 4, the connectivity and ports are far better in Surface laptop 5. Users will have access to two USB-C with USB 4.0 or the Thunderbolt 4, along with USB-A, 3.5 mm headphone jack and the Surface connector port. The Surface laptop 4 lacked the Thunderbolt 4 port.

Besides the I/O ports, Microsoft has outdone themselves with the wireless connectivity with the Wi-Fi 6 with 802.11ax compatibility. Also, the device will support the Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity for seamless data transfer.

Both the versions of the Surface laptop 5 will feature Windows Hello face authentication for a secure log-in experience. As for the front facing camera, it features 1080p resolution for clear recording and ease of communication during video calls. The dual far-field studio mics further elevate the user experience.

Thanks to the availability, the Surface laptop 5 will come pre-installed with the Windows 11 OS with 30-days free trial of the Microsoft 365 family.

In terms of build-quality and finish, the Surface laptop 5 features a durable and high-quality aluminum casing with different choices and color variants of palm rests.

The Surface laptop 5 will be available in four different color variants – Platinum, Ice blue, Matte black and Sandstone metal. There are no further reports about the availability of the Surface laptop 5 or the pricing.
