While the launch of the Surface 3 laptops has just been done a few months back, there are already rumors about the possible launch and specs of the Surface laptop 4.
In recent light of events, a new benchmark spotted a leak by @_rogame which suggests that the Surface laptop 4 could come integrated with a choice between AMD Ryzen 4000 and Intel Tiger Lake-U CPUs.
This has left the possible tech enthusiasts in a state of excitement and shock. But, this new hint might not be that big of a shock as the Surface 3 laptop did come integrated with both the AMD and Intel flavors, the choices dependent on the user.
While the Surface 3 laptops did come with an underplayed factor with the under-powered AMD processors, it is likely that the game could change this year with the launch of the Surface 4 laptops that come with the latest Ryzen 4000 chips.
Aside from the AMD Ryzen chips, the benchmark did hint at the Intel chip processors too and if the reports from the benchmark rumors are to be believed, it says that the Surface laptop 4 could come integrated with the upcoming Tiger lake-U processor.
Although Intel hasn’t shed much light on the 10nm Tiger Lake-U chips, it is assured that they are going to break through the performance expectations from the current available options.
It can be expected that the Tiger Lake-U chips will be providing with a much better performance in comparison to the Ice Lake CPUs. But, the experts believe that the real test that these Intel chips will face is against the 14nm Comet Lake chips and AMD’s new 4000-series CPUs.
The reason why experts believe the possible integration of the Intel Tiger Lake-U processors is because the laptop that was used for the 3D mark tests has an SSD model which is available just in the Surface laptops.
The benchmark further elaborates that the Tiger Lake-U processor does come powered with the combination of four cores, eight processors which are functioning at 2.7GHz base clock along with 4.3GHz boost clock. With the kind of physics score and graphics score of 8,412 and 5,540 that the processor comes with, it is expected to meet all the heights like the AMD Ryzen 4000 chips.
Aside from the processor functionalities and specs, the benchmark also deduced that the upcoming Surface Laptop 4 is likely going to include either 8GB or 16GB RAM and the storage option of 256GB or 512GB SSD.
Even though there has been no fixed launch or release date that has been announced by Microsoft yet, it is believed that the same could be during the month of October when the Surface laptops are generally announced.
