Samsung 512GB CXL Memory Module  Samsung Electronics has recently introduced the first of its kind new 512GB CXL memory module that packs in 4x better memory capacity compared to the prior versions.

Samsung Electronics is yet set to expand their collection of RAM configurations with their industry-first 512GB CXL DRAM, leading a step towards the commercialization of the compute express link RAMs.

Ever since the first teaser of the CXL DRAM prototype that Samsung introduced in May 2021, the brand has been working in collaboration with data center, enterprise server and varying chipset companies to create the markets very first programmable CXL chipset.

Reports suggest that Samsung’s CXL memory chipset is designed and built on the application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and is the very first DDR5 RAM configuration to pack in 512GB memory. This is 4x more than the predecessors.

Cheolmin Park, Vice President of Memory Global Sales & Marketing at Samsung Electronics, and Director of the CXL Consortium highlighted this new development saying that the introduction of the CXL DRAM will be a crucial turning point in the future computing processes with integration of AI-enabled functions, machine learning and big data services.

Christopher Cox, Vice President of Strategic Technology at Montage Technology regards the CXL memory configuration as a key technology that supports innovation with the help of memory expansion in the next-gen computing platforms.
