The Surface Laptop 4 and Surface Go 3 are likely two of the most popularized devices that every single tech geek in the world is currently talking about. In case you have been wondering what direction, Microsoft is planning to take their launches, some rumors have surfaced that can feed into the suspicions.
The Surface Book 3 and Surface Go 2 are two of the latest launches from Microsoft and while no one thought that the brand would stop their releases, there are some new rumors that suggest that the company has been focusing on its flagship and in making the devices more affordable and accessible.
Surface Laptop 4 Rumors
The very first rumor of the lot that surfaced is the fact that the Surface Laptop 4 is likely equipped with the Windows 10 May 2020 update and is also powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor.
The processor is based off of the Zen-2 technology from AMD and comes with 6 cores with 2.3GHz and a boost clock of 4GHz.
With such configurations, the users can be promised with seamless user experience and performance beyond expectations. This is predominantly a superior option for the thin and lightweight devices.
The Surface Laptop 3, which was released last year, was the first device from Microsoft sporting an AMD processor and if the rumors are correct, it is likely that this partnership is going to be integrated in these upcoming launches too.
The Surface Laptop 3 also came with an option of the Intel core processors and it is possible that the same would be the case with the Surface Laptop 4 as well.
What about Surface Go 3?
Now that rumors suggest that the Surface Laptop 4 is likely going to be equipped with the AMD processors, is it the same with Surface Go 3 as well?
While this rumor comes from a forum poster from a Tablet review, this rumor has sparked interest in the minds of the people.
According to the reports, it suggests that they have been testing out the latest Ryzen mobile chip along with the low power 4.8 watt for one of the custom devices that could be used in the Go 2 successor.
This indirectly insinuates that the AMD processors could be an option for the Surface Go 3 laptops too. This is likely going to help make them a lot more budget friendly in comparison.
Given the lack of authenticity of the source, it is better to take these rumors with a grain of salt. But this was the poster that revealed the Microsoft Surface Go 2 specs before they were officially launched, making people side eye.
The used chip in the new Surface Go 3 is likely named ‘Pollock’ and has a lower power consumption of 4.8 watts. Even though it is a low powered part, the issue with the heat is still likely to be persistent.
But, with the latest launch of the Surface Go 2, it is not likely that the Surface Go 3 will be released anywhere before 2021. This provides both Microsoft and AMD with enough time to plan things ahead and chalk out the shortcomings.
The rumors from the forum also suggests of the possibility of Microsoft using their own custom chips for Surface Go 3.
Whatever the final results be, the users can expect these two new successors from Microsoft to be launched by 2021.
