Lenovo is one of those brands that is known for launching some of the latest, innovative products and devices within a reasonable price point. Amidst all of the existing models, the one bestseller that has been a personal favorite for many is the IdeaPad S540-13.

With the wider screen with 16:10 aspect ratio, this device has snatched the attention of the users all throughout. But what is the new hype surrounding it?

As per the latest reports, the IdeaPad S540-13 has now been upgraded with some of the latest AMD Ryzen 4000 APUs. It is not a surprise that Lenovo decided to make this sudden switch, provided that majority of the OEMs are doing the same.

Amidst all the necessary reasons to buy this laptop, one that stands out is the amazing mid-range price point. This device is specifically known to give you more performance for what you pay.

Aside from the new addition to the IdeaPad S540-13, some of the prior features are still the same. It is equipped with a 13.3” QHD IPS display with a stunning screen resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. It also supports 300 nits peak brightness and also cover 100% of the sRGB color gamut.

The device is also designed with a stunning backlit keyboard along with a good quality 720p IR front facing webcam on the top of the display.

While the prior versions of this device were integrated with the Zen 2 APUs, Lenovo has now made a switch and upgraded to the SMT enabled AMD Ryzen 5 4600U along with the AMD Ryzen 7 4800U APUs for faster and more defined performance. These APUs runs on 6 cores and 12 threads and 8 cores and 16 threads respectively.

The Ryzen 5 4600 U variant is programmed with a 2.1 GHz and 4.0 GHz base and boost clock respectively. The Ryzen 7 4800U comes with 1.8GHz and 4.2GHz base and boost clock.

Both of these APUs are backed with stunning AMD Radeon Graphics that can support everyday work and even promote better usage of the gaming skills you have. As for the memory and storage, the device is equipped with 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD storage along with 16GB DDR4 RAM.

The device is also equipped with wireless connectivity with Wi-Fi 5, 11ax, 2×2 and the Bluetooth 5.0. Aside from that, the laptop also sports a favorable 56Wh battery for long-lasting battery life. Aside from that, it is also equipped with all the latest connectivity ports and even comes with the TPM 2.0 chip that allows better security.

The new upgrades IdeaPad S540-13 is going to be available with different configurations in different countries. The same has been mentioned to be available in multiple countries in Europe, Australia, Asia and Latin America at the moment. There has been no mention of the same for North America yet.
