12th gen Intel Alder Lake P Laptop CPUs Core i7-12800h

If you have been waiting for new Intel processors, there is some amazing news for you. The second Intel Alder Lake-P Core i7-12800H laptop CPU has been leaked out under the Geekbench single threaded tests.

The initial reports suggest that the upcoming Intel processors are 25% faster and more efficient than the competitors, AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor.

The leaked information came out of Gigabyte, who are in the process of benching out their upcoming launches AORUS and AERO line up. The latest reports come from the new AORUS 15 YE4 that is integrated with the Intel Core i7-12800H Alder Lake-P CPU with 16GB of system memory.

The upcoming Intel Core i7-12800H processor has similar configuration like its predecessor, integrated with 14 cores and 20 threads performance. The processor features 6 Golden Cove cores and 8 Gracemont cores backed with 2.80 GHz base frequency for superior rendering of the performance and user experience. Reports also suggest that processor is further backed with 20 MB of L3 cache.

Intel Core i7-12800H Alder Lake P CPU benchmark leak

As per the test reports leaked on Geekbench, the Intel Core i7-12800H Alder Lake CPU relayed 1654 points in the single-core and 9618 points in the multi-core test. The single-threaded test results were 25% faster compared to the AMD Ryzen 9 5900H processor.

Comparing it with the multi-threaded performance, the Alder Lake CPU had faster performance compared to the AMD Ryzen 5000H chipset.

However, nothing has been set in stone yet. The difference in the performance benchmark could be due to the early ES chip tested by Gigabyte. This scored lower in the ST test but performed equally well in the MT test.

Despite all the ups, downs and middles, the launch of the new Alder Lake CPU from Intel has put them in the same line of competition with AMD Zen 3 lineup. The Intel processors are doing better in the mainstream testing, with 20-30% heightened performance rates.

These kinds of performance gains are to be expected in the upcoming Intel Alder Lake-P mobility platform and the flagship Core i9-12900HK as well. The latter is even touted as the fastest laptop chip designed till date.

To match the competition, AMD is all set to offer the Rembrandt lineup with the upgraded Zen3+ cores by the first half of 2022. However, initial reports suggest that even the new chipset will harbor the 8 cores and 16 threads configuration.

AMD’s competition to Intel’s hybrid design is likely going to be with the Raphael-H chipset, which is expected to launch in 2023. This is going to come out with double cores and threads configuration for the ultimate performance.

Until then, Intel is leading the market with their Alder Lake CPU configuration. There are no official reports about the launch yet or which devices will officially be released with this chipset.
