Revealing information surrounding Apple’s iPhone 13 launch dropped this past week, foremost of which concerns the product’s launch date—rumored to occur in the first or second week of September 2021. When at last the day comes, Apple plans to unveil four versions of their new model: the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and the iPhone 13 mini.
Another major scrap of news for tech junkies and app hoarders to obsess over is that each model of the new iPhone 13 may come with up to 1TB of storage. This report has been met with contradiction, but the storage rumors have become more frequent and promising over the previous months.
In another major leak earlier on this month, Apple analysts at Wedbush stated that LiDAR sensors and functionality would be available for every member of the new iPhone series. While Wedbush is often an authority on such matters, others have claimed that this would only apply to the Pro models.
The exact release date isn’t yet established, but a report from Tech Radar assumes the launch to be somewhere in the first or second week of September. However, last year’s iPhone 12 launch was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic—so Apple’s release of the iPhone 13 series could be pushed to later this fall.
Below is a detailed look into the rumored specs of Apple’s next generation of iPhones.

iPhone 13 Design & Colors
Concerning design, the iPhone 13s are expected to have significant rear camera developments. The expected upgrades would be to the ultrawide rear camera, switching it from a f/2.4, 5P (currently on the iPhone 12 series) to a f/1.8, 6P. And further expectations point to the Pro and Pro Max models having autofocus on their rear cameras.
The palette of iPhone colors also expects to add new shades with this falls release. Pink and orange are expected to be added to the color lineup, which will appear alongside the same offerings from last year’s iPhone 12 launch: purple, black and white.
iPhone 13 Battery Life
The battery life of the iPhone 13s is also seemingly poised for a dressing-up. Leaks suggest that where the standard iPhone 12 offered 2,805mAh, the 13 is expected to offer 3,095mAh; and the iPhone 13 Pro Max is expected to have a 4,325mAH battery.
iPhone 13 Price Range
Prices are presumed to remain steady from last year’s launch, with the cheapest models beginning somewhere around $699, and the more expensive costing upwards of $1,099. This price range mirrors the cost of the iPhone 12’s.
While Apple’s line of iPhone 12s were the first to feature 5G functionality, it took a massive tax on battery life. This has been something Apple sought to address. The coming line of 13s, while also featuring 5G, are going to have more longevity due to their larger batteries.
Looking Forward to Launch
Other speculations surrounding the 13 models include WIFI-6E support, a 120Hz LTPO screen, removing touch-ID, an always on-display and larger coils for faster wireless charging. None of these features are yet confirmed, but with mid-September quickly approaching, the validity of such rumors will soon be put to the test.
