It was in 2011 that Asus first launched the ZenBook, aiming to achieve a unique trade-off between portability, power and style for the mushrooming on-the-go population. The newest ASUS ZenBook UX430UA-DH74 is a distinctive addition to the series, featuring a powerful eighth-generation Intel Core i7 processor and stunning graphics in a travel-friendly frame.
Over the years, Asus has introduced various ZenBook models with exciting features, from 12” laptops with integrated graphics to 15” ultrabooks with discrete graphics processors and high-speed response. How does the latest ZenBook, with its price tag of $999.00, fare against its esteemed ancestry? Let’s find out.
The most standout feature of the new Asus ZenBook is, without a doubt, the incredibly powerful
processing setup. An Intel Core i7 processor (eighth-generation), 16GB RAM (DDR3, 1866 MHz) and 512GB storage (SSDD) come together to generate performance that exceeds that of several contemporaries. The processor has a native frequency of 1.8 GHz, but this can be Turbo Boosted up to a highly competent 4.0 GHz.

It has a surprisingly low thickness of 0.62 inches which makes it fit easily into the confines of your baggage.

Another small wonder this mean machine packs inside its compact body is auditory superiority. Since the sound system complies with Harmon Kardon Audio Technology and ASUS SonicMaster, you get pure and distortion-free sound. Very thoughtfully, Asus combines hardware (especially, a smart amplifier) and software to deliver pleasurable listening.
Accessibility & Ease of Use

integrated with an inbuilt fingerprint sensor and Windows Hello. This accessibility feature comes in extremely handy when you need to start your laptop in a rush and can’t be bothered to type in your password. (Remind us again, when was the last time you were in a rush? Oh, all the time!)
A commitment to ease of use is visible across the ASUS ZenBook UX430UA-DH74. The full-size keyboard — fully backlit — is designed ergonomically. The keys, for instance, are spaced at 1.4mm which makes the typing experience comfortable. Typing while traveling and in less-than-ideal work environments are also more accurate and gentler than you’d expect.
The touchpad (with a glass covering) is reasonably precise and smooth. Interestingly, it also supports palm-rejection and multi-touch gestures.
Device Support & Connectivity
With this Asus ZenBook, it becomes possible to extend the mobility of an ultrabook to the utility of a full-purpose machine. There is one USB 3.1 port, one USB 2.0 port, an HDMI and an SD card slot. The support is adequate for plugging in devices ranging from projectors and peripherals to display units.
The USB Type-C port deserves a special mention for its astonishing speed of data transfer: almost ten-fold that of the old USB 2.0. Plus, this port is reversible (can be plugged both ways), making it further simpler to plug in your connections. The laptop also supports 802.11a/c WiFi — a sound foundation for wireless connectivity.
