Today, Asus announced the August 11th release of its upgraded ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition gaming computer. The two main upgrades are the CPU and GPU which feature the brand-new AMG Smart Shift technology.
For the CPU, Asus has brought in an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX XPU, and the graphics are now using the AMD Radeon RX 6800M. With the addition of these two crucial components, overall gaming performance and productivity is reported to be u to 15% more effective. Many reviewers are recognizing these updates as a step that puts Asus closer to catching Intel and Nvidia at the top of the heap when it comes to gaming technology.

The laptop is only available in stores in India but can be purchased online from a third-party retailer for around $1,650.

The laptop runs on the Windows 10 operating system, but the Asus website says that once available, there will be a free update to the Windows 11 that’s supposed to be available later this year.
The display is a 15.6-inch screen with a 2560×1440 pixel resolution. The display speed is one of the more impressive aspects of the upgraded laptop. Asus offers two options, either the esports grade 300Hz/3ms display or the 165Hz/3ms for rich details.
As for storage, the computer comes with 16GB GDDR4 RAM and 1TB of PCIE SSD.
There are also some extra design features that contribute to the sleek-looking surface of the laptop. It has a customizable backlit keyboard, an aluminum hinge in the back, and the top is covered in an aluminum lid.
The speaker system is a Twin Smart Amp, and with headphones, there is a 5.1.2 channel surround sound powered by Dolby Atmos. It also comes with Two Way AI Noise-Cancellation which removes excess and unwanted sound from both incoming and outgoing audio.
The computer holds a 90Wh high-capacity battery which Asus says can handle up to 12 hours of video playback.
Overall, the new laptop has many gamers curious. But with the release being limited to India, it may be a while before the wider world gets to fully experience what it has to offer.
