Apple is holding an event on October 30, 2023, which should indeed be the Mac announcement event they have every year, usually earlier in the month. This year, there was confusion about whether the company would upgrade any of their Macs or Silicon as they already launched the 15-inch Macbook Air earlier in the year.
Apple’s “Scary fast” event on October 30 – What to expect!
The new “Scary fast” event announcement indicates that the company is in fact coming with new Macs in 2023. There are big expectations for the upcoming Macbooks including a much better display and this time, the company may upgrade the iMac as well.
Firstly, a new generation of Apple Silicon should start their way as “fast” is something the company is highlighting. That means the introduction of Apple M3. I expect the M3 to power new variants of the 13-inch Macbook Air and the 24-inch iMac. As the 15-inch Macbook Air was just announced a few months back, I’m not sure if Apple plans to upgrade that right now.
The 24-inch iMac can also receive an upgrade to the M3 and if the company wants to release the M3 Pro and M3 Max at the same time, then there is a possibility of an option to upgrade the SoC on the iMac. This could also mean upgrades to the 14-inch and 16-inch Macbook Pro models.
iPad Pros can get the M3 to upgrade too and this time there might be subtle changes in the design as well. However, it is unlikely that Apple will refresh anything else in this event unless they want to upgrade the AirPods Max (which is long overdue) or talk more about the Vision Pro.
