Latest reports suggest that Apple has brand new Macs up for launch in June at the WWDC 2022 event.
If you thought Apple was done with their 2022 launch following their spring event in March, you are mistaken. Following their announcement and launch of the new Mac Studio and Studio Display last month, Apple has a few more Macs in store for its consumers.
The reports come from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who hinted at the possible launch in his latest Power On newsletter. He mentioned that Apple is planning to make the launch at the WWDC 2022 event that will be hosted in June, 2022.
It isn’t the first time that Gurman has hinted on the upcoming launches of new Macs from Apple. He has been reporting about the line-up of Macs that Apple has in store in 2022. In his initial reports, Gurman said that the new launches will start off in the first quarter and then again during the summer, inciting the possibilities at WWDC 2022.
If the current reports and rumors are true, we could very well be getting new Macs featuring Apple’s M2 chipset since Apple clarified that their M1 family is complete following the launch of M1 Ultra chip.
The rumors about the upcoming MacBook Air suggest that the design will undergo a lot of design refinements to shift its appearance similar to the 24-inch iMac. Besides multiple color options, the upcoming MacBook Air might feature narrow white bezels too.
One of the upcoming Macs, especially the MacBook Air might not feature the miniLED display as many users were previously expecting. However, there will be a lot of upgrades to the functionalities and specifications, including new I/O ports, MagSafe compatibility and a better Facetime camera.
“Other models in the works include an updated Mac mini and 24-inch iMac, as well as a low-end MacBook Pro to replace the aging 13-inch model. And let’s not forget that the new Mac Pro and iMac Pro models are in development,” mentions Gurman in his newsletter.
Apple has already sent out their event invites for the WWDC 2022, which is going to be held on June 06, 2022. At this point, we’d have to wait and watch to see which new Mac models are finally released in the upcoming summer event.
