Available in four sleek finishes – silver, space gray, midnight and starlight, the model is equipped with a compact 13.6” display and a responsive 1080p HD FaceTime camera to streamline video conferencing.
Along with the new 13” MacBook Air, Apple also announced the launch of the refreshed MacBook Pro featuring the latest M2 chipset and immaculate performance. Both the models will be available for purchase from next month.
Launch of the Next-Gen Apple Chipset – M2
Ever since Apple has started manufacturing and integrating their own chipset into the device, the tech brand has consistently developed and improved their products every step of the way.
M2 marks the second-generation of Apple’s M-series chipset and features an improved outlook from the pre-existing M1 chip. Besides power efficiency, M2 packs in improved memory architecture and custom technologies to support the growing processing demand of the consumers.
The M2 chip is integrated with an 8-core CPU with Apple’s first-gen 10-cores GPU configuration to support optimal visuals and appearance. Pair that with 100GB/s memory bandwidth and up to 24GB unified memory, users will never have to compromise on the workflow and performance.
Redesigned MacBook Air
The development and build of the upcoming MacBook Air has been done around the production of M2 chip. So, the model features an incredibly thin, lightweight and portable design measuring 11.3 mm in thickness and weighs 2.7 pounds.
As for the overall build, the laptop features an aluminum-unibody enclosure that’s solid and feels premium in the hands. Apple has reduced the thickness by 20% to comfortably accommodate all the required components into the model.
The highlight of this model is the fanless design, all thanks to the M2 chipset design.
Users also get to rejoice on the resurgence of MagSafe, providing the users with a dedicated charging port for easy connectivity. The redesigned model packs in two Thunderbolt ports, a 3.5 mm audio jack with a full-fledged touch ID and expansive Force Touch trackpad.
Responsive 13.6” Liquid Retina Display
Moving ahead to the display, the new MacBook Air is equipped with a compact 13.6” Liquid Retina display with narrow bezels for an expansive visual field.
Furthermore, the display packs in 500 nits brightness, making the visual 25% better than the predecessors.
While on the topic of display and visuals, we can’t skip out on the camera settings integrated into the laptop. The new MacBook Air packs in a 1080p Facetime HD camera with a responsive camera sensor and improved low-light performance that ensures seamless video conference experience.
As for the audio settings, the MacBook Air is equipped with a four-speaker sound system, all of which is integrated into the thin model. Backed with advanced beamforming algorithms, the three-mic array produces crisp and clear audio output like no other. The laptop also supports Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.
Improved Charging Options
The list of improvement doesn’t stop there because the new and improved MacBook Air features multiple charging options, including the brand-new 35W compact power adapter. It features two USB-C ports that supports charging two devices at once.
The new MacBook Air can easily charge up to 50% in under 30 minutes with an optional 67W USB-C power adapter.
