With the announcement of so many new launches that are set to hit 2021, it is not surprising that one of such launches is the ASUS ROG Strix. The tech brand has confirmed that they are all set to unveil a very new version of the ROG Strix at CES 2021.
The reports further suggest that the new range of laptops will not just include an upgraded NVIDIA Ampere-based GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards but also include the much-awaited Ryzen-based Strix systems for unmatched performance unlike anything else.
The marketing images posted by ASUS don’t focus on the exact specifications of the devices but there were some more details shared on the Chinese website, ITHome.
The 2021 versions of the ASUS ROG Strix will be integrated with up to Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU. This is also the same SKU that has been mentioned in some of the previous leaks mentioned before. There is not much information about how this specific model is different than the Cezanne (Zen3)-based CPU is from the 5900H model but there are chances that the same might be park of the special edition with overclocking features.
Coming round to the prospect of graphics, the new Strix device will be assorted with a range of graphics chipset, including one of the three from GeForce RTX 3060, RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 graphics cards. This is the very first time that users will get to experience the combined benefits of NVIDIA and AMD chipsets together.
With such a different combination. It is likely that ASUS will have a range of interesting tweaks that the users are likely looking forward to. Given that the Tiger Lake-H 8-core CPUs are not going to launch for a few more months, there are chances that ASUS didn’t have any other chance but to work with whatever they had available.
But, the inclusion of the Tiger Lake-H35, which is a 4-core CPU might not be an ideal option for the heavy-duty gamers. This is one of the primary reasons why majority of the gaming laptop developers are opting for a combination of 10th Gen Comet Lake-H CPUs with the RTX 30 graphics.
Another unique feature that the users will get to experience in the 2021 ASUS ROG Strix device is the inclusion of the 2k display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. So, if you were worried of not having a high-pixel density in a prior gaming laptop, this device might be the answer to that.
According to reports, the new ASUS ROG Strix laptops are going to be available to the users shortly after its announcement in CES 2021 but a particular date or even the price of the device hasn’t been shared yet.
